Week 12: Ebooks and Audiobooks

Posted at 2:49 am under Uncategorized

#23 Ebooks and Audio books.

I have used Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive to access out of copyright books for students previously.  I found that the Best Places to Get Free Books is also a very handy site to help find e-books.  However, while such sites are definitely useful, call me old fashioned, I prefer a hard copy book any day!  Mind you, I would love to try out Amazon’s new wireless reader – Kindle

I have long been a fan of audiobooks, particularly for long car trips!  They are also fantastic  (and necessary) for those students with learning difficulties.  In the past I have used Audio CDs but now we have podcasts and mp3 formats available to us. LibriVox is a great source for these, but like all audios, the quality of the reader dictates the enjoyment level.
